I was born and raised in southwestern, Pennsylvania and grew up fly fishing everywhere from the Lake Erie tributaries to the famous limestone streams of Central, Pa. While attending the United States Military Academy, I fished as an escape from the rigors of a military college on the Beaverkill River and developed a deep passion for the history of fly fishing. Following college, I served for 12 years in the Army, finishing my career as a Major in the Army Engineer Corps. While I am incredibly proud and humbled to have served, I decided that I wanted to follow my passion of teaching others how to become more successful anglers. I find true happiness from the fellowship associated with watching others catch fish.
